Back from DDT in Lahr

Posted in Everyday Life on September 29th, 2009 by Faderhead

Woohoo! What a truckload of fun! Daniel, Joe and I brought the energy and all the crazy people at the DDT in Lahr picked it up and partied hard, despite the early time of 20:30! Many thanks to everyone who was there for the show and also to everyone who was there later to party till 6am.

Of course we have a little video for you all right here:

Thanks to Gillian, Oli, Jens, Ines, Ina, Booker, Matze, the stage crew and everyone else involved in running the night! I’ll be back for sure!

Girl merch has arrived!

Posted in Everyday Life on September 23rd, 2009 by Faderhead

Thanks to all your input I redesigned the shirt designs and went with the following two designs, which arrived from the printers today:

Girl Shirts
(Manga head designed by: Monserrat Videla)

Each design will be available as a girlie shirt as well as a tank top and we’ll start selling them at this weekend’s Dark Dance Treffen in Lahr/Germany.

100 hugs to each and every one of the ladies who voted and voiced their opinion on my preliminary designs. That really helped me out with some fresh perspective! :)

Hope you like these designs! :)

Just got news from L-Tracks!

Posted in News, Releases on September 22nd, 2009 by Faderhead

All the Horizon Born EP files are on their way to the pressing plant – mastered audio as well as packaging & booklet files. Looks like the release will be going down as planned with the release date on Friday, October 23, 2009.

Packages for Pressing Plant

The uploads for iTunes etc. have also been done, but they are notoriously slow, so I hope that they’ll get their stuff together on time. If not there’ll always be the direct downloads from Faderhead.com which will include a bonus track, be in 320kbps and have the proper ID tags this time. Thanks to everyone who pointed out the ID mistake. FH3 was the first release L-Tracks ever did, so little things like that can happen. But I made sure that it won’t happen again!

I’m stoked!

Nice Monday :)

Posted in Everyday Life on September 21st, 2009 by Faderhead

The postman brought 2 packages for me today!

Package #1 were Endzeit Bunkertracks IV compilations. I produced two tracks on those and received my complimentary CDs today. They did a really nice job on the packaging!

EBT4 CDs

Package #2 was a bunch of nice merch (shirts, keybands, stickers, you name it!) from my man Thomas (Nachtmahr). Snazzy stuff! Thanks a lot Thomas!!

Nachtmahr Merch

I also bought two vintage robots which Nicole found for me on the web. She’s very shopping savvy and much thriftier than me … so I even saved a few bucks!

Why can’t all Mondays be like this??? :D

Sascha Eversmeier is the man …

… for programming SPITFISH. This DeEsser solves so many of my problems, it’s unreal … and it’s even FREE! Great, great, great plugin.

DFP Spitfish

The Blockfish compressor is great too. I have used it on every album so far!

Living Dead

Posted in Everyday Life on September 11th, 2009 by Faderhead

This morning in the gym two teenage girls (think: Wannabe-Paris-Hilton meets HipHop-Babe) were talking while doing crunches next to me …

Girl #1: “God, this retarded guy was hitting on me again all evening yesterday. I don’t know what he wants from me. I mean, he’s super old!”

Girl #2: “Yeah. How old is he?”

Girl #1: “25″

Girl #2: “God …”

That made me chuckle.

Girl #1: “Whatchoo laughin’ about?”

Me: “Well, I am almost 26, does that make me dead?”

Girl #2: “Theoretically … yes!”

After that I put on “Zombie Nation” by Grendel on my iPod. What a way to start the day :D :D :D :D

Girls, I want your opinion!!

Posted in Everyday Life on September 7th, 2009 by Faderhead

I finally managed to think of some new designs for Faderhead girl merchandise (with the help of the lovely Monserrat Videla who came up with the little Manga-Faderhead idea). Here’s what we came up with:

Now I need to know: Which design do you like the most?

Please vote in this poll and let me know:

Thanks!!

This 18 minute speech by Elizabeth Gilbert is really inspiring and full of truth. I can’t count how often I felt the way she is describing …

If you are working in any creative field, watch it!
