Been brainstorming and planning a lot of stuff for the upcoming Dirtygrrrls/Dirtybois videoshoot. Since I am the director, producer and protagonist in the video, there’s a lot of hats to wear. I am glad I got the likes of Jean-Jaques Ribbeaux (director of photography) or my production manager Gebert McCuff to help me out.
So far I have:
01) made a budget & wrote a rough script outline
02) scouted and secured a main location
03) found the vehicles that are supposed to be in the video
04) organized flights for all bandmembers
05) organized main dancers
06) almost finished casting all the extras and characters that will be in the video
07) organized hair & make up
08) made plans to outsource catering
09) got a production assistant (Gebert McCuff)
10) organized accomodation for Jean-Jaques Ribbeaux and his film crew
11) got a rough idea of what I am going to wear
12) started to develop a look & feel that I want for the video
Still among the things to do:
13) meet with MuA
14) find a suitable outdoor location for 2 scenes
15) get a videoshoot permit from the city of Hamburg
16) find latex outfits for the two dancers
17) develop the storyboard and write up a preliminary shooting schedule
18) fully organize catering
19) do some test shoots at the main location
20) make different playback versions of the song
21) send out those playbacks to everyone who needs them
22) rent light and PA
23) email all the extras and everyone else with progress/status reports
24) come up with some more cool ideas for the script
25) talk to Jean-Jaques about some technical details/ideas
26) review the LED-idea that we had
27) talk to the owner of the main location about logistic details
28) make a list (including cellphone numbers) of all people involved in the shoot
This is just off the top of my head, but I am sure there’s more. I really love doing this, especially if you end up with a good video after all the work!
